Carlos Santana's band — Afro-Cuban rhythm fused with rock; took 'Oye Como Va' global.

Formed in San Francisco in 1966 by Mexican-American guitarist Carlos Santana, the band broke out at Woodstock (1969); its album 'Abraxas' (1970) and its cover of Tito Puente's 'Oye Como Va' carried Latin rhythm into global rock.
